Writing in Digital Environments @ UCF


ENC4416 is a three-credit course that assists students in gaining insight in to digital writing environments and the rhetoric that surrounds them.

Course Goals

  1. Read and analyze theories of technology applicable to writing in digital environments, focusing on concepts such as “networks” and “ecologies”
  2. Practice working with content, including structures of markup language behind the surface of web writing
  3. Analyze how different situations call for different digital strategies and interventions
  4. Practice working on large-scale writing projects and learn about the different roles writers can play in online writing project
  5. Collaborate with peers and organizations to create content that is attention- grabbing and adds value for others
