Academic Administrative Experience

Instructor/Coordinator, University Writing Center (UWC), University of Central Florida Regional Campuses, December 2006-Present

Established and developed writing centers at Cocoa and Daytona Beach campuses. Continue to promote and manage the Cocoa center which conducts about 700 consultations per year.

Significant accomplishments include:

Negotiation of partnership with Brevard Community College (BCC), resulting in the establishment of the joint BCC-UCF Writing Center

Adobe Connect: introduction, promotion, and management of university-wide online consultations

Information Fluency research project, 2007-2010, "Integrating Writing and Research: A Collaborative Project to Promote Information Fluency on a Regional Campus"

Development of UWC website and promotional materials, social networking sites, and events

Honors in the Major: introduction of Writing Center support to regional campuses

TutorTrac scheduling software: piloting and customization

Instructor, English as a Second Language. Aspect, July 2006. International high school and college-age students.

Writing Consultant. University Writing Center, UCF, 2004-2006.

Graduate Teaching Associate. UCF, August-December 2006.

Instructor, Art for the Pre-School Child. Brevard Community College, 1984-1986. Theory and methods. Instituted pre-school art show.

Teaching Technology

Blackboard. Professional Writing and Advanced Expository Writing are taught online though UCF's Blackboard.

Adobe Connect. Writing consultations, as well as approximately half the Writing/Consulting seminars 2009-2010, are taught via Adobe Connect, facilitating synchronized discussion.

Classroom Response System. Clickers are used for student workshops and consultant seminars.

ITV. Approximately half the Writing/Consulting seminars 2007-2009 were taught via UCF's instructional television, allowing for site-based sessions that included outside presenters from three campuses.
